How to Set up Webhooks in Postmark?

Postmark is a fast and reliable email delivery service that simplifies sending both transactional and marketing emails. Whether you need an API, SMTP, or Message Streams, Postmark has you covered.

In this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in Postmark to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in Postmark

  1. Login to your Postmark account.
  2. Click on your server.

  1.  Select a stream from message streams.

  1. Click on ‘Webhooks’.

  1. Click on the “Add webhook” button.

  1. Copy the Webhook URL from the trigger flyout and paste it under the Webhook URL field.

  1. In the ‘Which events should we send’ section, select the event corresponding to your trigger. For example, if you are setting up a webhook for the ‘New Bounce’ trigger, then you need to select the ‘Bounce’ event here.

  1. Note: If you are setting up a webhook for the “New Inbound Message” trigger, then click on the “Inbound settings” link.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Webhooks. Copy the Webhook URL from the trigger flyout and paste the URL into the “Inbound webhook” field.

  1. Click on the “Save Changes” button to save the webhook.

  1. Now, return to the webhook setup process for other triggers, i.e., after step 7. You can send a test response on the trigger flyout if you want by selecting the respective event in the “Test your webhook URL” field and clicking the “Send test” button.

  1. Click on the “Save Webhook” button.

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your Postmark account.
