Connect Momence App to OttoKit

This guide walks you through creating an OAuth2 application in your Momence dashboard and using the generated Client ID and Client Secret to connect Momence with OttoKit.

Before you start

You need:

  1. A Momence host account with admin access to the host dashboard.
  2. A staff account with the host dashboard permissions you want OttoKit to use. The OttoKit connection will inherit the same permissions as the staff account that authorizes it.
  3. Your OttoKit OAuth Redirect URL: https://api.ottokit.com/momence/connection

Step 1. Open the Developer API settings in Momence

  1. Log in to your Momence host dashboard at https://momence.com/dashboard.
  2. In the left menu, go to Apps & Integrations.
  3. Click Developer API.

You can also open it directly: https://momence.com/dashboard/profile?host-redirect=public-api-clients

Step 2. Create a new API client

  1. On the Developer API page, click Add new client.
  1. Enter a name for the client. This is for your reference only. We recommend something like OttoKit.
  1. In the Redirect URI field, paste the OttoKit OAuth Redirect URL:

https://api.ottokit.com/momence/connection

  1. Save the client.

Momence will generate two values for the new client:

  • Client ID
  • Client Secret

Copy both values and store them somewhere safe. The Client Secret is sensitive, treat it like a password.

If you lose the Client Secret, you will need to regenerate it from the same screen. Regenerating the secret will break any existing connections that use the old secret.

Step 3. Connect Momence in OttoKit

  1. In OttoKit, go to Workflows > Create a new workflow > Add Momence as action, Select an action event and click Select Connection.
  2. Create a New Connection
  3. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret from Step 2 into the matching fields.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. You will be redirected to the Momence login screen. Log in with the staff account you want OttoKit to act on behalf of.
  6. Approve the access request.
  7. You will be redirected back to OttoKit with the connection saved.
