Connect TikTok Lead Ads to OttoKit

To connect TikTok Lead Ads to OttoKit, you need to create a developer app on TikTok’s Business API portal. This gives you an App ID and App Secret which you’ll paste into OttoKit to authenticate your connection.

Before You Start

You’ll need:

• A TikTok for Business account at ads.tiktok.com
• An active TikTok Ads Manager account with at least one ad account running Lead Generation campaigns

Step 1 – Register as a Developer

1. Go to business-api.tiktok.com/portal
2. Log in with your TikTok for Business account
3. Click Become a Developer
4. Fill in your name, email, and company details, then click Submit

Step 2 – Create an App

1. Go to My Apps → click Create App
2. Fill in the details:
   • App Name — e.g. “My OttoKit Integration”
   • App Description — briefly explain what it does, e.g. “Connecting TikTok Lead Ads to OttoKit to automate lead workflows”
   • Advertiser Redirect URL — enter your OttoKit OAuth callback URL: https://api.ottokit.com/tiktok_lead_ads/connection
3. Under Scope of Permissions, enable:
   • Lead Generation
   • Ad Account Information → Read
4. Click Submit to send the app for review

Note: App approval typically takes 3–7 business days. You’ll receive an email once approved.

Step 3 – Get Your App ID and Secret

Once your app is approved:

1. Go to My Apps and open your app
2. Click on App Details
3. Under the Credentials section you’ll find:
   • App ID (also shown as Client Key)
   • App Secret (also shown as Client Secret — click the eye icon to reveal it)

Copy both values — you’ll need them in the next step.

Step 4 – Get Your Advertiser ID

Your Advertiser ID is the ad account you want to pull leads from.

Easiest way: Log into ads.tiktok.com and look at the URL in your browser. You’ll see a number after aadvid= — that’s your Advertiser ID.

Step 5 – Connect in OttoKit

1. In OttoKit, go to Connections → search for TikTok Lead Ads
2. Click Add Connection
3. Enter your:
   • App ID
   • App Secret
   • Advertiser ID
4. Click Connect — OttoKit will redirect you to TikTok to authorize access
5. Log in and approve the permissions
6. You’ll be redirected back to OttoKit with your connection active
