OttoKit: SureForms Integration Guide

Hey there, in this article, you’ll learn how to integrate SureForms, a lightweight and modern WordPress form builder, with OttoKit to automate your workflows.

SureForms makes it easy to create simple yet powerful forms for your website, such as contact forms, feedback forms, and lead capture forms.

By connecting SureForms with OttoKit, you can take your forms further by automating follow-ups, data handling, and other repetitive tasks effortlessly.

How Does Automation Work In OttoKit?

OttoKit is an automation platform that helps you build workflows using triggers and actions.

Triggers are events that occur on your website, and actions are the automated tasks that run in response to those triggers.

Triggers/Actions Available For SureForms

OttoKit provides a ‘Form Submitted’ trigger for SureForms that activates whenever a form is submitted.

It captures all the input data entered by the user at the time of submission.

How To Connect SureForms With OttoKit?

To be able to use SureForms-related actions and triggers, you’ll be required to activate the OttoKit plugin on the WordPress site where you’re using SureForms.

Follow the steps below to install the OttoKit plugin on your WordPress site.

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click on “Plugins” in the left-hand menu and select “Add New”.
  3. In the search box, type “OttoKit” and hit enter.
  4. The OttoKit plugin should appear in the search results. Click on the “Install Now” button next to it.
  5. Once the plugin is installed, click on the “Activate” button to activate it.
  6. After activation, follow the instructions on the screen to authorize OttoKit to access your WordPress site.
  7. Once you’ve authorized, you’ll see the OttoKit dashboard in your WordPress admin section.

Creating Workflows With SureForms In OttoKit

Let’s say you want to make your contact form more interactive by giving users instant feedback when they submit it.

For example, whenever a visitor submits a SureForms form on your website, instead of just showing a generic confirmation, you can send their input to OpenAI to generate a personalized response.

Doing this manually for each submission would be time-consuming and impractical.

So, we’ll create a workflow in OttoKit where each time someone submits a SureForms form, their input is sent to OpenAI, a smart feedback message is generated, and the response is instantly displayed back to the user on the Thank You page.

Step 1: Set Up SureForms Trigger

  1. Go to the OttoKit dashboard
  2. Click on the Create New Workflow button
  3. Give a unique identifier name to this workflow and start building
  4. Click on the Add Trigger button
  5. Select the trigger app as ‘SureForms’
  6. Select trigger event as ‘Form Submitted’
  7. Select the site where you have SureForms installed.
  8. Select the form through which you want to send feedback.
  9. Now go back to your SureForm dashboard and in the Advanced Settings of the specific form<Form Confirmation< tick on OttoKit Response(Available with Business plan of SureForms only)
  10. Come back to the OttoKit workflow
  11. When you see the ‘We are waiting for the “Form Submitted” event…’ message, submit your form with test data.
  12. When OttoKit has fetched the form responses, click on the save button at the bottom of the screen to save this step.

Step 2: Set up an action to add feedback on OpenAI

  1. Click on the + icon to add a new action.
  2. Select the action app as OpenAI.
  3. Select the action event as ‘Create Chat Completion’.
  4. Add the OpenAI connection by adding the API key.
  5. Choose the AI model, add the AI Role, and map the message.
  6. Click on the test action.

Step 3: Set up the SureForms action step

  1. Click on the + button to add a new action
  2. Choose SureForms: Send Data step
  3. Select your WordPress connection
  4. Map the Response URL from the SureForms trigger response
  5. Map the response from the OpenAI response in Response Text
  6. Click on Test Action
