How To Set Up Zoom SMS Action?

Zoom is a video conferencing and communication platform that enables users to host online meetings, webinars, virtual events, and even send SMS messages.

It offers a comprehensive range of features, including high-quality video and audio conferencing, screen sharing, real-time chat, recording options, and integrated SMS functionality, all designed for seamless communication.

In this article, we’ll understand how to set up Zoom SMS actions to send SMS messages.

How to add scopes and get secret tokens from the Zoom account

1. Go to your Zoom account
2. Then go to Admin on your left side > Advance > App Marketplace
3. Select the “Build App” option from the “Develop” drop-down menu in the top right corner.

4. Click on General App and then click on Create.

5. You can now edit your App name and tick on Admin-managed, and click on Save.

6. Scroll down and copy your Client Secret and Client ID.

7. Scroll down further and add the Redirect URL– https://api.ottokit.com/Zoom_Sms_Actions/connection.

8. Now, scroll down to scopes on your left side and add scopes.

9. Add three scopes, i.e
   A. Phone:read:list_users:admin
   B. Phone:read:sms_message:admin
   C. Phone:read:list_sms_sessions:admin
   
   And then click on Done.

10. Now go to OttoKit workflow and choose the Zoom actions for SMS and get connected to the step by pasting the Client Secret and Client ID, which you have copied earlier.

That’s it, the connection will be created, and further you can map the details on the step and click on Save.

You’ve now successfully created an app on the Zoom Marketplace, added the required scopes, and connected it with OttoKit for the Zoom SMS action.

With this setup, you can seamlessly automate your Zoom-related workflows — sending SMS notifications, updates, or alerts directly through OttoKit.
